About COMPANY INTRODUCTION Introduction of PetroChina BP CNPC BP Petroleum Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CNPC BP") is a joint venture company established by China National Petroleum Corporation and BP Group. In 2000, PetroChina and BP Group signed a letter of intent for cooperation in London, England. In 2001, PetroChina BP Petroleum Co., Ltd. (Jiangmen) was formally established to operate and manage the gas stations of both shareholders in Guangdong Province. In 2003, the CNPC BP Large Joint Venture Company Feasibility Study Report Approved by the Ministry of Commerce. During Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to the UK in May 2004, former PetroChina President Chen Geng and BP Group Chief Executive Lord John Brown signed the joint venture contract and articles of association of PetroChina BP in London, England. In September 2004, PetroChina BP’s contract and articles of association were formally approved by the Ministry of Commerce. In the same month, it was registered in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province and received a business license. CNPC BP is the first batch of Sino-foreign cooperation projects approved by the Ministry of Commerce in the field of refined oil retail. The registered capital is 1.741 billion yuan and the total investment scale is 5.022 billion yuan.
